This gallery shows a varied selection of E Radford pottery, starting with earlier handthrown shapes, progressing through to the later pieces.

Most of the early wares were decorated underglaze over a sponged ground colour, usually fawn, blue, green or pink.  However some patterns were painted overglaze.

The pictures above show a selection of early jugs and vases.  The early shapes can generally be identified by the Basemark.  Further examples are shown in Gallery 2 and Gallery 3.

Above are examples of Trees, Deco and Scraffiato designs - all "early", but sufficiently different to have their own pages.

Butterfly Ware - a bit different from the more normal floral designs, see the Curios and Rarities pages for other non-typical ranges.  Also a range of Animals was produced.

The "later" shapes are generally moulded rather than handthrown, and can date anywhere from the late 1930's to about 1980.  Typically those with a plain white ground are probably from the 1960's or 70's, while those with a sponged ground (often with a contrasting colour on the inside) are believed to be earlier.

These later wares can be found in a wide variety of shapes and patterns.  Note that some Patterns were used on both early and later pieces.  Gallery 4 shows more examples.
